It’s not too hot, it’s not too cold. New Jersey is located in the Goldilocks zone of the east coast. There are many towns just along the coastline that offer beautiful scenery but with a temperate climate. And you are never too far away from nature. So, if you like going out of town and into the nature for a Sunday picnic, New Jersey is a perfect choice for you.

Suburban lifestyle

New Jersey is not densely populated. It does have locations that resemble heavily urbanized NYC, like Jersey City. But, for the most part, it consists of small towns. So, if you are looking for a quieter place to move with your family, away from the havoc of a big city, moving to NJ is a wise choice. You will be able to buy or rent a much bigger home and truly enjoy a more comfortable life. Towns are very family friendly and the school system is excellent. 

NJ is close to big cities

No matter where in New Jersey you move, you will always be just a short ride away from a big economic hub. New York City is located to the north. And it’s where most people moving to NJ come from. Atlantic City is located in the south of New Jersey, and Philadelphia is to the west. Those cities offer great job prospects and they are close enough for you to commute. No matter where you are, you will still be able to catch a morning train and reach your workplace.

In contrast to Florida, New Jersey can have some harsh winters. It’s not uncommon to wake up with two feet of snow that fell overnight. So, if you are not a big fan of snow, you probably won’t enjoy winters in NJ. You can easily get tired of shoveling snow and clearing your driveway. Your kids will be excited at first. But when they realize that schools don’t shut down due to snow so often, they might change their mind.

Move to New Jersey instead of New York

If you are thinking about moving to New York, you should stop to consider New Jersey instead. Northern NJ is so close to the big apple that it has become a de facto suburb of NYC. Especially Hudson County. It borders New York City and has great transit connection to it. It’s not only more comfortable to live outside the crowded city, but it’s also much cheaper. You will be able to afford a much nicer place to live for the same amount of money. Why live in a small apartment in a dirty building when you can afford a big house with a backyard. Moving to NJ is also more affordable. You can hire moving professionals from Hudson County for a decent price and save a lot on moving expenses. And all of that while enjoying a much more peaceful and quieter neighborhood than you would in NYC.

When it comes to choosing a place to retire to, most people think of Florida. It is one of the best places to spend your golden years. But New Jersey comes in a close second position. It offers much of the same benefits as Florida, but a bit colder climate. If you are not a fan of long and hot summers and want to experience winter, New Jersey is a perfect location for you. There are over 200 adult communities in New Jersey that offer excellent amenities. Ranging from small ones where you know everyone to some really big ones. Also by moving to NJ, you will be able to keep your moving budget smaller.

Is it hard to move to New Jersey?

Moving to a different state is a big challenge for everyone. You are moving long-distance and you never know what to expect.
